About Me

I have always been a community builder but my passion for public service ignited with President Obama’s farewell speech in 2016. He said, “If you’re disappointed by your elected officials, grab a clipboard, get some signatures, and run for office yourself. Show up. Dive in. Persevere.” That very next day, I focused on making a positive impact on my community, in whichever way that could mean. I have been driven to better understand the local process, continue to educate myself on our region’s most pressing issues, and jump in where I was needed.

Starting in 2018, my tenure on the Planning and Zoning Commission has given me invaluable insights into the intricacies of city process, urban development, and the importance of responsible city planning. Over the last five years, I have actively contributed to the city’s goals of creating a “city for everyone” by supporting both the Interfaith Sanctuary project and the Modern Zoning Code, as well as actively holding our developers accountable, such as in the Arbor Village Assisted Living Facility project. This experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the challenges our city faces and the need for sustainable and balanced growth.

Through my work with Boise Valley Economic Partnership, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the economic landscape and the vital role that job attraction and local business support play in fostering a thriving community. I have built bridges of collaboration with our higher education institutions, largest employers, regional municipalities, and state and county entities. Furthermore, my professional experience as the marketing director of Ballet Idaho and as a strategic sourcing manager for Albertsons companies add a unique perspective that encompasses experience in both small, non-profit and Fortune 50 business practices. With this experience, I’m confident I can contribute effectively to the economic well-being of our city as your Councilmember.

I am deeply committed to public service and am driven by a desire to make a positive impact on our community. I have continued to grow my passion for service and lifelong learning by serving on the boards of several non-profits including Boise State Public Radio community advisory board, FUNDSY, Leadership Boise, and as a mentor for Conservation Voter for Idaho’s Public Boards and Commissions Fellowship program. It’s been an honor in my time on Council so far, and I look forward to continuing to contribute meaningfully and on a larger scale to the decision-making processes that shape our city’s future.
